UFC legend Jon Jones will return from a three-year hiatus to fight for the vacant UFC heavyweight championship at UFC 285 on March 4.

Jones is moving up in weight class to fight top-ranked heavyweight Ciryl Gane. Jones holds the record for the most successful light heavyweight title defenses, but his career has been impacted by legal issues and failed drug tests for performance enhancing drugs over the past decade.

Gane has shot to the top of UFC's heavyweight division since his debut in 2019; his only loss came against former champion Francis Ngannou, who vacated the heavyweight title after his contract expired at the end of 2022.
