"Especially to children," she continued. "We are oriented and we are guided by music…and the musical expertise or guidance of this film—it's going to get a lot of people interested." 

While Saldana is now a married mother to twin boys, the actress even referred to herself as "old" at the time. 

"I won't be surprised if kids start joining bands or just raising awareness or this or gaining interest. Will not be surprised, because I was interested in it a little," she said before adding with a laugh. "But I'm old, that was my excuse." 

Since the release of Drumline, Saldana's star power has only risen and she has appeared in a number of notable films including Avatar, Star Trek and Pirates of the Caribbean. Her most recent movie, Infinitely Polar Bear, which also stars Mark Ruffalo, hits theaters tomorrow.
